In grade 10, during the obligatory 9/11 story. where we all were watching the television instead of doing our first class, a kid said "what do we care, they're American." and I remember very clearly saying "don't be an idiot, there's going to be a war." Over the next three years I became obsessed with the war until I came upon #ce while looking for live webcam feeds of Shock and Awe and became a goon right at the height of the D&D libertarianism period. I had been reading all the wrong websites to try and figure out what was going on in the Middle East so I defended Bush and America. University and LF cured me.
