I think I saw a transgender on a American TV show about policemen, it seemed that they treated the subject with care. One policeman seemed to be the traditional anti-trans person while another one was accepting, by the end everyone understood and accepted transgenderism. It was very heart-warming.

Non-anonymous confession: I don't understand why we need an LGBT movement in the first place (to clarify: why lgbt people must fight for tolerance instead of being accepted in the first place). Why can't people leave other people be? I don't care if somebody is gay, lesbian, bisexual or trans. If they are a good person they are a good person, if they are a an rear end in a top hat, they are an rear end in a top hat. Sexual orientation has nothing to do with it. I freely admit I have problems understanding the concept of transgender, but I don't treat them any different than other people. However, I do think furries and otherkin have a genuine mental problem or are just in it for the attention. They don't need acceptance, they need treatment. It's not as easy to change ideologies many cultures have held for hundreds (in some cases, thousands) of years as just saying "the times have changed", whether it would be better for it to be that easy or not. That's why.

Y'know I don't think I ever got The Talk either, because my dad is incredibly awkward Luckily I had the Internet and was browsing porn by the time they would have given me the talk anyway. I thought I was being sneaky because it was the middle of the night, but again, in my just pure unrestrained genius I had forgotten that netscape saves your search history if you type it right into the bar. So literally all you had to do was pull up the internet and "naked women" was right there still in the search bar. I didn't even try to cover my tracks because I thought my 1-step plan was so foolproof.

My parents also found my porn search history when I was 13 or 14, had a very awkward sit-down talk about how "they" (meaning my mom, my dad didn't really give poo poo one) wanted me to stop because it would warp my view of women I just kinda nodded, said it wouldn't happen again, and figured out how to delete browser history within the next 5 minutes
