all that stuff works together if you use lync and polycom realconnect, which is good

polycom have a noise reduction technology and it's incredibly good. but most people join conferences with poo poo hardware so welp

use both, garbage quality pstn connection with a 20 year old phone, and then slightly delayed laptop microphone with the setting to play audio back through the speakers turned on.

i can only assume that the people who book 8 hour webex calls are the types of people who frequently say "well we have to be seen to be doing something!!!"

yeah it will have cost more than 14k. people always underestimate how large a display they should get for these kind of things, i put a 60" lcd in a room for 8 people and could definitely have gone larger.

it cannot handle text chat if you have more than one device. the use case of starting a chat on a phone and then getting back to your desk and wanting to continue it is not one they considered.
|
# ¿ Sep 12, 2016 21:20 |

that is true. if you need to text chat then you're better off starting a video conference and pointing a webcam at your screen. loving up text chat in 2016.

company has two locations about 120 miles apart, spent a load of money turning a room in one office into a video conference room, didn't buy anything for the other office. one guy travels between the two sites three days a week to sit at a desk and work on email, and maybe once a month has to have a face-to-face meeting. any money you spend on conferencing stuff you might as well burn or just buy a load of beers with.
