The Mote in God's Eye

If it came with a clip from Being John Malkovitch where John Cusack's character is talking about a "wintry job climate" it'd *really* speak to me

P.S. chk the aeronautical insanity thread in AI later tonite...

so i pulled into a local airport to chk my phone earlier while out riding and sort of stumbled on a mini air show by total surprise and got some nice shotz - including a B-24 Liberator...in particular a flying one that's 1 out of the 2 left in the world that are still airworthy!...got a nice engine blast 2 the face from that too as it was taxiing out to give rides for ~$500...maaaaaybe next year :cabot: , plus a B-25 Mitchell, a B-17 Flying Fortress, and a P-51 Mustang...all flying in and out the whole time :hai:

p nice way 2 end an otherwise uneventful weekend...i was grinning ear 2 ear the entire time and asking the CAP dudes who were putting on the event endless questions like an 8 year old it was so awesome :q:

Nice. I honestly hear riding in any sort of glass-nose airplane, esp a WW2 one is near a religious experince

The Mote in God's Eye

On the Disney channel last night was Aladdin, I watched part of it

Things I've leared:

1. If your character needs someone to react to, give them a comical animal sidekick (two of those three voiced by Frank Welker, I'm p. sure)

2. The 1990s was the time when a thief and a literal goddamn princess could say they feel trapped in their lives without it being laughable (this was also the time on i when I think rich women could compare themselves to literal slaves so)

3. So...who set up that cave with the lamp inside, anyway? And did it re-set itself when other people failed the test?

4. The rules of genie wishes are:

Cannot wish for more wishes
Cannot kill people (I don't know if this means just literally wishing people dead or by implication, like wishing a plague on a people, the movie didn't explore this)
Cannot make people fall in love
Cannot bring people back from the dead

What would be your wishes, thread?

The Mote in God's Eye

I was talking to a friend last night, when the topic turned to politics I got him to admit he only cares about things that impact him personally, everyone else can get hosed

He went on to justify this that equal rights for non-whites, women etc was a plot by the CIA, richers etc to distract from the REAL ISSUE: capital accumulation in the hands of the few, and if those chucklefuck women had a brain they'd see he is right in this

So it's no US democratic party, but it's also no socialist paradise.

I only have a dim impression of NZ politics, but my impression is that you guys did austerity/privatization hard in the 90s, like Canada.
