Smash is very well hidden in several stages and yeah you only get UFO after 100%-ing the game.

You can't even obtain them from the random copy essences. On that note, Doctor's down + b will never produce a recovery potion in th arenas.

Smash copy essences show up in several places in-game and UFO should be available in the ability testing area at 100% completion. Anyway, are there any tips for the True Arena? I'm having a hard time getting past the halfway point with Poison or Archer.

Would it even rank highly on the ability tier list re:Arenas considering we've seen how easily cutter, archer, and PSI are?

Smash has Hammer baked into it, it's automatically really good. It having better movement and Final Cutter for some quick aerial damage is just icing on the cake. They didn't lock it out for fairness reasons or anything though, they probably just wanted to keep it special.

Are there any HAL rooms in this game like there is in Return to Dreamland or Triple Deluxe? I haven't had much luck finding any just running around the levels.

I've solely been using poison, mostly abusing the cloud and the ground dash. Basically I just lay down clouds where I know the enemy is gonna go to chip away at 'em, I use the dash attack to lay down more poison and use the invincibility frames to avoid attacks, and if I get a chance I use the close up attack combo to get a decent chunk off if I know I've got an opening.

I did it! Final time of 29:08:47, which is terrible I imagine, but just completing it once is good enough for me. Getting extra air-time in the middle with a dodge/my Down-B attack was a good idea. Now I just need to get more stickers. What's the best way to do that...

You can get four stickers super quickly in 1-4, provided you can beat the goal game, otherwise it's three stickers a run.

I forgot this game released already and spent the past day finally catching up. Holy poo poo that fight against Dark Matter in Meta Knightmare made me squeal with joy. Same thing with Kabula Actually, speaking of that first one does that mean that Max also had to defeat Dark Matter and Queen Sectonia in single combat? working on beating true arena, i really wish there was an easier way to practice fighting the bosses in the 2 rounds before the last one. i need to go into the last round with a health bar that is at least somewhat respectable

I've tried a no ability run of both arenas, and I have to say, it's pretty interesting just how intricately the bosses are designed in the more recent Kirby games. They're clearly designed around Kirby having to just wait to for opportunities to spit things back at them, but HAL lets players have their fun with abilities. Holo Defense API pretty much becomes an entirely different fight since you're actually forced to deal with each bosses' attack patterns instead of being able to burst them down in a few seconds. The Holo Doomers are actually pretty nightmarish to deal with in the 2.0 fight.
