I get that they want every weapon to fill a specific niche and avoid the Call of Duty "Here are ten different but essentially identical assault rifles" but I dunno, I kinda like using the playstyle I'm best at, while still having something else to look at filling up the bottom-right corner of the screen for a while.

I hope they go with some more interesting gun types in general, rather than the standard AR/sniper/shotgun combo. Some of the new throwables definitely look more exotic, and the first Titanfall already has pretty sci-fi weapons for its mechs, but the on-foot primaries were very rote and CODlike.

Also, for the love of god, a smaller install size please. Didn't the first one have something like 30 gigs of uncompressed sound files, most of which was dialogue in five or six different languages? At least give us the option of saying "No, I'm only ever going to play this in English (or whatever) stop filling up my HD with useless crap."

Hah, yeah. I think they eventually patched TF1 to not have so much audio or something so hopefully they learned their lesson.

we did way too many gimmicks and won. But yes - we had one where we cooked frags only and won. Not even throwing them.

if I remember the list: charge rifles only, Hamtaro pistols only, mag launchers only, Sidewinders only, satchel charges only (note: this is the best strategy), noscope Krabers only, Wingman only.

Actually our best was when we got the streamer to call us hate words and then "unhappy leave".

I played TF1 a few days ago for fun, and still managed to do ok despite the remaining 100 people that play being Very Good. People are still salty about the smart pistol two years later, lol

With only 7 hour total in Titanfall 1, I've started playing again and am often at the top of the scoreboard. I'm in the 20s range and I think the second lowest level was about 40 or 50.

On the one hand I want really cool tacticals, on the other hand I want them to all be lame so I don't feel regret when I only ever use the grappling hook.

Here are the 3 announced abilities, from what I played the grappling hook was too much fun not to use and I didn't bother with the other abilities. I guess the tactical ability determines what your player looks like, so if you choose the grappling hook you get this suave looking spectre with a cool scarf.

This game informer article says seven pilot tacticals. Who knows if that's a mistake, the website sure does make it look like there are 6.

Also, as far as the grappling hook = robot goes, near the beginning of the multiplayer trailer we see someone use a grapple, and when they enter their Titan we see it's a female pilot. So you're not strictly constrained to be a robotic Tarzan. My theory is that they've made "robot" a third gender option :woop:

You do not; it just mimics the last thing you were doing and looks exactly like you. So if you're far away from someone and you pop it, then they won't know who to target (or you can hide around a corner and have it run ahead of you around the corner, so that people attack it instead of you). But obviously if you're in plain sight of people it won't be super useful.
