It'd make more sense if it was some Tone rockets, a railgun round, or really any Titan sized weaponry. Totally agree that it's dumb for bullets though.

Lancer is cool, but be cautious with expectations going in. The system is its own thing, not Titanfall The Tabletop Though it has sparked discourse on how one could handle Titanfall in a tabletop. An RPG where you play a specific pilot runs into the problem of the gameplay loop involving dying a dozen times a match and respawning. Ideally you would have a wargame with a budget of titans and infantry you can control across a skirmish map.

The new EA WRC game is using Unreal, and it’s not even full of monetization nonsense (there are season passes but only for cosmetic stuff and you get it all for free if you preorder)

Someone at Respawn is messing around with the playlist file that gets sent to your computer whenever you start Titanfall 2. Like, hourly. It's stuff like "don't look here" and "turn back now" and "I warned you" stuff. Anyway I'm sure something fun will happen tomorrow. They did a good job of firing me up and I enjoyed this little hype run. Never would have thought this would happen in 2023 with TF2.

EA just slashed 5% of their workforce. https://www.gamesindustry.biz/ea-cutting-5-of-workforce My buddy on the inside said they cancelled a bunch of stuff, but this one (and the earlier Titanfall sequel) really hurt to see axed.

I think this has more to do with focusing Respawn's limited resources on surefire hits, of which Apex, a third Jedi game, and the cultivation of the LA studio are main priorities. Respawn is EA's number one hitmaker, this is known.
