I had a thought last year of maybe trying out a fixed schedule, everyone would be assigned a window of when to post their pick. Takes the guesswork out of knowing when you'll be up

I think Doughty should have been picked after Karlsson and Ekblad. He's 26 and dominant at both ends of the ice, has multiple Cups, and routinely has league-leading possession analytics. And he's only making $7m. I'd take him over Subban.

well, you're wrong

I would not take him over Subban if they had the same salary, but the fact that he makes $2m less makes him more coveted for me. His analytics relative to his team are a little lower than I thought but they're still excellent over his career. Getting him at 26 is something I did not think would happen.

subban scored 1.21 p/60 last year at 5v5, doughty scored 0.64

In need of a number 1 centre, as well as a veteran presence in the locker room, the Edmonton Oilers take Jumbo Joe Thornton

37 years young, but a hall of famer and still one of the best in the game when it comes to playmaking and possession.

I remember getting Jumbo in the 3rd or 4th round last year, he's still awesome

Vincent Trocheck
Position: Centre
Age: 22
Contract: $4,750,000/yr through 2021-22
Although he's somewhat undersized, he's a fantastic two-way centre that's only 22 years old. At a cap hit of only $4.75m for the next six years, he's an absolute bargain too.

Dandy Kaiser's up again.

This was a real hard pick for me. I have a list of about 10 centers and even though there's a winger I really want I don't know if any of the centers will make it back to me and I can't live with myself if I don't have a good second line center.

The Buffalo Sabers select Tyler Johnson

Kyle Turris is a solid pick. He's in tough as a #1, but he plays both ends of the ice, has a good shot, and excellent vision. He, Stone, Hoffman and Karlsson would be a fantastic foundation for a team. It's just what they built on top of it that sucks.

I like him more than a bunch of other centers picked before him.

My short list was Johnson, Kadri, RNH, and Turris.

edit: actually it looks like there's still one more guy I had pegged to be gone by now
