Skyfall was nonsense, but then again we are talking about Bond films so- eh.

Does the quality improve at all? I might check Skyfall out one of these days. Skyfall and SPECTRE are both really good movies taken as pieces of pure cinema but they both have completely nonsensical plots as well as other issues. I like both of them.

Casino Royale > Skyfall > QoS > Spectre I actually didn't like Casino Royale at first because the film was paced and edited very quickly. Plus the sound mixing was off, it's tough to understand the dialogue some points Spectre was just irredeemable trash

I saw it stone sober and by the next day could barely recall any of it. My mind immediately threw it in the garbage bin where it belonged. So yeah I'm pretty sure it's bad but gently caress knows if anyone here will be able to tell you why.

Skyfall felt like they were trying to be Dark Knight or something. The siege didn't really feel very Bondsy to me. Spectre was really strange in trying to tie the previous Craig films together but with no real payoff from doing so. Also the inexplicable torture device that has no effect on Bond, even though he gets pieces of his brain drilled out.

I haven't seen Spectre, but the clip I saw was supposedly the Blofeld reveal and they can loving have it. How does that poo poo compare with Donald Pleasance soft-spoken archfiend or Charles Gray's boistrous clone-crazy diamond-powered-laser guy? Or even the first appearance in Thunderball, where it's just some Orwellian no-face petting his immortal persian cat? Pffft.

For all the movies Christoph Waltz has been in, it seems like Quentin Tarantino is the only director who knows how to use him (which is fitting since he's the one who discovered Waltz in the first place). The Green Hornet, Horrible Bosses 2, Big Eyes, Spectre of course... Shame that Waltz has stated he doesn't want to work with Tarantino again because he's afraid of becoming one of "his people" fake edit: in looking up his filmography I learned he worked with noted child molestor Roman Polanski so Waltz can go gently caress himself

reignofevil posted:No. Should I? Probably! I mean they're not high art, and it helps a lot if you're at least passingly familiar with 20th century French history, but they're pretty fun parodies that get a lot of mileage from the main character's extreme chauvinism.
