I am going to go to Scotland in the winter with my strong US dollar and live like a king and bring home a bunch of scotch and a gorgeous redhead.

Either that or I'm just going to stay there to wait out the Trumpocalypse

Yeah, can't a new government basically say "thanks for the advice but we'll table the matter pending pigs flying out of our asses"?

no new elections unless parliament votes for it, and there's nothing preventing the government from ignoring this except for the (huge) political ramifications

this would require conservatives to essentially cease to function as a party. th next general is scheduled in 2020, no bringing it closer without emergency

unlikely, but would be nice

Didn't Cameron say he was going to resign? Doesn't that pretty much force an election?

Not at all. Parliament is much more self-organized than the US executive/legislative branches are.

I mean clearly they are not otherwise stay would've won in a landslide, but the point it's making is there's a strong age differentiation and leaving will gently caress them longer than those who voted to do it.

Perhaps they should consider moving to a voting system where your vote is weighted based on your life expectancy...

also here's a stupid take
---------------------------->
You can't make a connection between this and Trump guys. Not only is Trump presently way behind Clinton in every single poll taken but the US presidential election is not a referendum based on the popular vote. There is a whole complex system in place that was designed from the ground up to stop someone exactly like Trump.
