i didnt know until googling just now that 1984 was written like 20 years later. i thought it was the opposite. drat.

Equilibrium was an even more accurate representation of the future, what with all the constant drug use and gun violence.

Seriously though I do agree that Huxley was closer than Orwell in terms of how things turned out.
