no weird-dressers in high school, but i saw a dude on my college campus a lot dressed like a bumbling noir detective. a trench coat the worst shade of beige you can imagine, hanging off of this rail thin dude like a wingsuit. there was a hat as well, but it would be disingenuous of me to insist it was a fedora, these years later.

we did have a kid with a rolling backpack who sprinted through the halls. sometimes i saw him in the cafeteria, seemingly talking to himself. but an underclassman informed me that actually, he has conversations with his calculators. he loves math and has a handful of different graphing calculators, for god know what purpose. he wrote a story for class where his calculators spoke to him and helped him pass such and such exam. e: he hung out with a kid who really did not like me. the kid could not properly modulate his voice and basically yelled all the time. i guess they were tight.
