Advance 1 is some pretty looking technical jank on the level of Sonic Blast. Like everything that Blast did wrong, this replicates, down to the broken springs. And it's maybe the best of the Advance series. Kind of a primer on what Dimps will go on to make. God speed.

That ending to Sonic Mania Plus was treasure. And we march on to Advance 2. You can bail without the good ending, I won't blame any of you.

If you didn't like Chaotix, Advance 3 is gonna be extra fun. Just some bright sunshine.

Shoutout to the terribly placed spikeballbird what's blocked Rick on every pass through Techno Base 1. We might become friends with it if we do try to Good End this. Advance 1 is pretty straightforward 3&K. Advance 2 gets Sonic CD and keeps throwing the player backwards and into blind enemies/spikes. Advance 3 levels are more vertically oriented, have relatively few enemies or spikes, are generally half vacant, and just entering the levels is kinda Chaotix weird, there's no automatic progression. Plus with the partner mechanic, I really think Dimps looked at Chaotix and said 'yes, this is the game we want to copy'. Anyway, love what you want to love!
