An FYI: I want to update, but I'm sick as hell (pun not intended), so it'll take a few more days before it's up. I should really start backlogging before opening up threads. Oh! Hey. Almost missed this thread. Glad the username caught my eye. I'm not a terribly huge fan of FPSes (mainly because I'm not very good at them), but this certainly looks interesting at least. I'm sure I might wind up buying it during a Steam sale for posterity, at some point, as I have many other games. In the meantime, this should be a fun watch.

I'll post the screenshots as soon as I can muster up the will to go through the ones from the first update and zoom them all in, so that nobody has to squint when reading the text. There isn't anything interesting in this update as far as the codex entries go, anyway.

I want to play this game but I lack a good PC to work with, so I'll have to default to my PS4. Anyone can tell me about that version's quirks?

I wonder what are these forums going to be like when the average user age is 55-64. Will most goons even live that long?

There's always that moment when someone has a '97 username and my first instinct is to think "Get the gently caress out, you're like 12" and then I realise that no, no they're not. Or seeing CVs at work, where people applying for a job were actually born in this millennium.

I like the one where some dumb chick decides to cut off a truck and predictably gets hit in the rear, then proceeds to lose her poo poo over this and call her mom for whatever reason. It became a meme in the Russian part of the Internet back when.

Poil posted:Trying to wrap your head around adults who did not spend any time growing up with DOS. My first computer games were greenscreen monitor educational stuff like Think Quick and Where in the USA is Carmen Sandiego (the first one). When we got a color DOS system (486 I think, maybe 3) we played the QBasic games hidden on there, Nibbles and Gorillas, and the older brother of the girl next door taught us some programming to make the computer ask what game we wanted to play and run it (assuming we had the disk in). The first time I saw Wulfenstien 3D, it was on the floor display of a computer store to show off the system's power and graphics. Not slinging some e-peen around, I'm just fascinated by how much things have progressed since then. I haven't grown up in the internet age, I grew up WITH the internet age.

Yea, I can remember when PC games came in big fancy boxes (to hold all the 5 1/4 floppy's the game came on). When having VGA graphics was considered worth advertising on the box. Back when sound cards were optional equipment and games had to be configured for them.Seeing how tech can change over a 10 or twenty year period is quite amazing.

Okay, unrelated. I've had a request to make the codex images a bit larger, so that they are easier to read. I don't want to make the size of the images themselves larger, because they're already at the upper limit of the archiving size (which is 900px wide, if I recall correctly), and I don't want to resize them all back later. So, I tried to stretch the images instead. Does this look fine to everyone? Or should I just increase the image size after all? For comparison: How I posted the images from the first update How it would look at 1000px nutri_void fucked around with this message at 22:38 on Aug 3, 2016 |
