i did the same thing, whoops!
bizarrely it looks like there's no way to remove a nickname, even via mods. i thought i'd be clever and just open the file in notepad and delete the nickname that way, but that just makes the character not show up for import all together.

which is having the game run off a single psuedo-random number, which advances with each action you take, regardless of whether that action would call upon the number or not. You can nudge the things around by changing your order of operations which changes the number being checked to determine success, but it's always the same progression of numbers
i'm probably wrong on some detail seeing as i'm not about to delve into the game code to test my assumption

combat protocol is great, but i feel like taking your first specialist down the medic line gives you some more breathing room at the start of a campaign.
the specialist or two after that though, sure, all zap'n'hack all the time

Somewhere in the code there is a flag for 'can this skill pop up in AWC training' and that determines what you can and can not learn through the AWC. I have also seen at least one skill that is only available from the AWC roulette.

Example: After playing We Know the Devil I tried to find a good LP of it to link to my sister because I thought she'd enjoy it. Every loving LP on the first page of YouTube results is someone chatting for several minutes before playing the game and then spoiling the game within the first few videos (way before the spoiler is actually revealed.) Just loving horrible.

This means I'm probably going to have to do an LP of We Know the Devil myself because if you want something done right do it yourself/put your money where your mouth is/etc. So I guess look forward to that once I figure out how to handle the repetition that is ever present and inevitable in Visual Novels.
(I'll probably just do what ChorpSaway did in his Hatoful Boyfriend LP and just link back to reused scenes that were previously posted. But that might make for very short updates.) Eh, I'll figure it out.
