Considering that the press was among those slinging the mud, yes a different press approach would have made a difference. Also, it's unfair to compare hillarys numbers with that of the first black man to become president.

So the first woman president doesn't mean anything? Interesting how Sister Hillary goes from being a world historical figure to a conventional politician at a moment's notice. Maybe if Obama hadn't told all of his organizers and supporters to go home and had passed legislation like card check instead of the Bush tax cuts more people would've turned out for the Democrats in 2010 and 2016.

Right now, there are people in their 30s who personally experienced some horrendous, horrendous poo poo under Soviet rule. This is not ancient history. And now that we've got streaming services and widespread internet, we can hear it directly from the people who lived it, so it's doubly insulting when Western/American leftists theorize and talk over them, and sterilize USSR history when the first-person sources are *right there.*

There's a reason like 80% of Romanian New Wave films are about trying to navigate the cultural trauma of Ceaușescu's dictatorship. gently caress capitalism? Yeah, I get it. But gently caress Ceaușescu for real.

They're not going to be around as long as you think thanks to the 10 year drop in life expectancy after 1991. Also you can use that technology to learn about how America stole an election so the Communist candidate wouldn't win and how Yelstin shelled Russian Parliament.
I thought this was a great return to form and Felix talking about his life and gaming is really great. It is a big difference from the "duck hunts" in earlier episodes to actually not trying to get people mad at them now.

Frankly I wish Russia had seriously tampered with the election because America deserves it.

Putin's in power pretty much because the Clintons helped hack a Russian election.
I don't believe anything about Russian hacking unless someone gives me proof and even then I don't care because a good campaign could have counteracted it instead of just whining. Everyone believed that DPRK hacked Sony but it was actually just from someone inside Sony. In Shattered it stated that the Clintons decided to blame the Russians after they lost and that's all there really is to the story.

I think the Chapo boys seemed a little too (uncharacteristically) naively optimistic in end of the last episode because I'm already seeing "WELL BOTH SIDES" going around in ostensibly liberal circles.

Liberals are always going to be finding ways to justify their complacency. However that rally in Boston had thousands of people and liberals are actually having to explain their ideas without them being implicit. Once you actually have to try to define your position when it used to be taken for granted it means that you have lost ground. Expect a ton more of articles about how socialists are the real fascists etc. because liberals are scared.

Not all of them - Bernie Sanders, for instance, seems pretty confident and energized.

When I say liberal I mean it in the sense of Locke as in someone who supports capitalism, free markets and individual liberty. Sanders opposes free markets and privatization which doesn't make him very liberal even though I don't think he is exactly a socialist. Chapo talks a lot about neoliberals but they're mostly talking about liberals.
