I think they want to empathize and help with the plight of a rural working man, which is great, but living it is another thing entirely. You could feel it when they were talking about Bernie in his 20s living in abject poverty and comparing it to stealing/borrowing Wifi or a Netflix password, which is just simply not the same. I don't think you mean to do this but you kinda saying votes in cities don't matter as much as more exburb/rural votes. Hillary lost because people didn't like her, and no amount of press or rallies would change 30 years of mudslinging. The one thing the GOP has is a reliable base that will vote R, seemingly no matter what, and that is exactly what happened. Trump got almost exactly what Romney got. I figured she would win based on 2012 turnout alone, since Trump was so toxic, and I was completely wrong. She really was a much much worse candidate than I had thought.
