David Frum probably makes me angrier than any other conservative pundit because without fail, five minutes after he's denounced Trump for something or other he's back to tweeting Daily Mail articles about keeping Germany for Germans. I have a mini-stroke every time I see people talking about how he's one of the reasonable conservatives. Which is to say, l-o-loving-l at that BOFA.

I'm pretty over the Daily Show style stuff in general but to be completely fair, like 70% of my annoyance at Oliver probably has more to do with seeing "Watch John Oliver EVISCERATE Trump and BATHE IN HIS BLOOD" on Facebook every Monday morning than with the actual show itself. Like someone else said, the reporting on their long-form segments is great.

Given how DSA is organized, I don't really see the problem there either aside from more or less academic concerns about whether the national org should endorse candidates or whatever. If there are sufficient numbers of people in a given local who want to pursue non-electoral stuff, they're pretty much free to go ahead and do it. I'm still new so maybe I'm just not up on how big a role the national organization plays, but it seems like it pretty much just exists for visibility, onboarding new members, and for facilitating the formation of new local chapters.
