Did this episode of DAYS have a guest director? It looked a little different, and not in the 'obvious budget/time-crunch episode' way (although there was a smidgeon of that).

I remember seeing Chip Cheezum and General Ironicus riff on an episode of it (along with a lot of other way worse or just plain weird Anime Zorak gave them) during an LP of theirs and thinking it looked reasonably charming, but that might just be because most of the stuff they riffed on was generally so awkward-to-bad. I remember it being bland but pleasant.
