WTF, why is the clutch master all the way over the gas pedal, did Ford really put the clutch pedal on the left side of the brake and the clutch cylinder on the right side of the brake? I expect these kinds of shenanigans from native-RHD vehicles that have been converted to LHD by their foreign makers for the USDM, but not from Ford.

37" military tires aren't exactly slim and lightweight either. And that rear axle is probably pushing 300lbs. Steel wheels right?

There's nothing lightweight about a 3/4-ton or 1-ton pickup, especially with big tires, bumpers, winch, and steel flatbed. That winch is probably over 100, the front bumper's probably somewhere between 100 and 200. Hell, IIRC F350 rear leaf springs are somewhere around 100lbs each as well.

What the gently caress, motorcraft puts the rectifiers inside? ND likes to hang them on the outside under a sheetmetal shield, I assume for ease of service or to improve airflow. I can do exactly what you did without even taking the alt out of a jeep if I have to, but it's miserable. Either way, the case doesn't need to be split to replace the rectifiers on them, which is nice because the cases are seized solid up here.

Cast aluminum cracking is the worst loving thing. At least it was a stupid cooler elbow not a bellhousing.

Wonder how long that trans had the wrong fluid in it... it shifts alrightish, right? Maybe you caught it in time.

Rx7 oil cooler is 90% the same for $20 at a yard.

I've only ever seen one RX in the yard and it was an 8. That one surprised me.

That being said, why don't you buy a new piece (assuming they are even available anymore and not $rape) or machine one yourself? It looks like a fairly complex part, but most of the surfaces aren't critical dimensions, so I bet as long as you get the bolt pattern, hole pattern, cooler body tube mating face + seal pocket dimensions, etc right relative to each other, you can bore the passages out with a goddamn dremel and finish the outside with a chisel and a hammer if you have to.

JFYI guys - when measuring resistance of stuff like that, you're really pissing in the wind using a regular multimeter, even a good one. Probe wire resistance is often 0.2-0.3 ohms and you're trying to measure 0.3 to 0.5 ohms with it, it's like trying to measure differential shims with a yardstick. The only way you're really going to get a good measurement other than dead vs maybe-dead is with a milliohmmeter, the kind with 4-wire "Kelvin clip" probes.

I completely agree. 05+ superduty axles are by far the best OEM one ton axle set you can buy. Since it's been around 2 decades since they switched to 170mm bolt circle, aftermarket 4x4 wheels in this pattern are not as rare as they used to be.

If I wasn't already the owner of an 87 kingpin 60 and a 74 IHC Dana 70, I'd go superduty no question.

Don't do this. It didn't work out well and they disintegrated into a nasty plastic dust fairly quickly.

Shaft is fine, rear end is cursed

All jokes aside, Jesus, you've basically rebuilt that truck from the ground up. It looks great.

Given how old it is, I'm guessing it's a mechanical speedo cable driving it, though I have no direct experience with those years of Ford. Did the speedo jump and wave for a while before quitting? If so the cable is likely bad or the speedo gear wasn't correctly clocked for the tooth count that was installed.
