My other favorite country song is that one about how being a person who's into the whole country scene is a lot of fun and very pride-instilling

I like the one about how the singer is from a place where everyone eats chicken and the men don't dress up as women, and at the end they're all going to heaven.

I think he also sings a song about 9/11 too.

I like the song Gone Country, because it feels like it's a complete middle finger to modern country scene... from 20 years ago.

That is easily Alan Jackson's best song, but I knew someone else had to have written it because his other poo poo is corny as hell. (see my earlier post)

edit:

Alan Jackson posted:

I was chasin' sun on 101
somewhere around Ventura
I lost a universal joint and I had to use my finger
This tall lady stopped and asked
If I had plans for dinner
Said no thanks ma'am, back home
we like the girls that sing soprano

Cause where I come from
It's cornbread and chicken
Where I come from a lotta front porch sittin'
Where I come from tryin' to make a livin'
And workin' hard to get to heaven
Where I come from

"a lotta front porch sittin'" is one of my favorite song lyrics ever because it's just so... I dunno, "gently caress it I'll just sing whatever" or something.

There's a lot of good country music still, it just never gets radio airtime. There's also a ton of good country that's been fusing with other music scenes for the last twenty years, like in Denver.

No it isn't. Most music in most genres is poo poo and people have bad taste. It's a great time for new country if you know how to look.

When did country artists decide that bragging about how soft they are and sucking up to women was the way to go? The songs always come off like a corporation used focus groups to manufacture a "touching" moment, but they overdid it with the whining and self pity.

In about 50 years we went from "I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die" to "When tough little boys grow up to be dads, they turn into big babies again" because they see their little girl fall while she was learning to walk.

I am liking this a lot right now:

I just listened and though "I don't remember Garth Brooks having that thick of an accent." But the backing track sounds exactly the same. Maybe he just replaced the vocal?

I've never seen someone so strict about purging their music from the internet as Garth Brooks, for most of his songs the only way to listen to them is either hope you get lucky on pandora/spotify or illegally torrent them.
