Season 1 Episode 6, which I think is the first appearance of the Royal Flush Gang in DCAU, though it's stated they've been around since Bruce Wayne was Batman, and I think they show up in Justice League Unlimited. Terry falls in love with a teenage girl who is also "Ten" in the Royal Flush Gang.

They also show up in the live action Arrow tv show, which borrows a lot of Batman villains, but I've never read a comic with them in it.

I watched every episode and tapped out of Ultimate Spider-Man after 2 episodes, but I was a teenager when the former came out and an adult when the later did.

Basically, it boils down to Marvel can't continue it as Sony owns the show and Disney wouldn't let them buy the rights from Sony, Sony can't continue it because they don't own the rights to air Spider-Man cartoons anymore, and Disney can't continue it because Sony owns the show itself and Disney is (was?) apparently a direct competitor to Sony so they'd never pay them money to buy the rights of the show.

Though, with them working together to get Spider-Man in the MCU, who knows if they could bring it back anytime soon. Most likely, they'll just go ahead with Marvel's Spider-Man (both on PS4 and TV, hah).

Spectacular Spider-Man was cancelled and the next show was Ultimate Spir-Man, so gently caress Ultimate Spider-Man.

That's why they made him a college student, so he could be Gone when they just wanted to tell a story about Batman. I would assume they assumed even years after super friends and Batman 66 people still knew who Robin was.

If it was based on the movies they did a bad job because before Burton left what would eventually become Batman Forever they were looking at Marlon Wayans for Robin.

Billy Dee Williams as Two Face and Marlon Wayans as Robin, that would have been a hell of a film.

Checking the seven episodes before, and man. This show was even more of a trip than I remember. We start off with the Lizard, and then immediately follow it up with a two-parter about the Spider Slayers, then Doc Ock, Mysterio, Scorpion, and Kraven.

Venom is both introduced and seemingly taken care of in episode 10, and then doesn't return until episode 37, an episode that featured motherfuckin' Dormammu? I don't remember Dormammu being in this show!

Maybe I should re-watch this nonsense sometime.

I love Miles but I don't like him being in the same show as a teenage Peter Parker who is alive. My dream Spider-Man cartoon is a 14ish Miles Morales where Peter Parker died somewhere between being a high school senior and a sophomore in college.

If Spider-Gwen had been a manga we would have at least gotten multiple issues exploring black female Captain America's story, how she came to be involved with the Super Soldier program, how she survived from the past to the present, who her family was, who she loved and lost and why they mattered to her. That doesn't mean that it would be good because there's plenty of trash manga too but at least in manga the creators say "hmmm if I want to the audience to care about this character I need to invest time and space into showing them why she's important."

Spider-Gwen just shoved all of that into 3-4 pages. And it sucked. Being self contained didn't help it. Modern superhero comics are absolute loving poo poo at telling good stories if you aren't Tom King. And people wonder why the industry is dying.

If I'm buying a comic titled Spider-Gwen, I'd get pretty annoyed pretty fast if they devoted several months of comics to the backstory of a side character.

There was like 2 or 3 crossovers in the New Scooby Doo movies back in the 70's. That was the hour long cartoon that had Scooby and gang also team up with The Harlem Globetrotters and Don Knotts at various points.

Well, the success of the Adam West videos showed there's a market for more light hearted Batman stuff, and they can't get him to voice anything else. Plus with the films being so grim there's a gap in poo poo you can sell to (the parents of) young children.

Ignoring the quality of the Zack Snyder movies, I think that whole direction was a mistake. Can you imagine being the parent of a six year old and having to explain to them they can't go see the Batman vs Superman movie?

It takes time to develop something from scratch, it's also possible this came from the people in charge of Scooby-Doo, maybe they're a fan of BatB? That section has to be making decent money sense there's like a dozen or something DTV Scooby-Doo videos using the current designs and voice actors.

They're also making more DTV movies in the Timm/Dini style directed by Bruce Timm.

I'm sure there's some people somewhere whose job is to create a new Batman cartoon for television, but that takes a while.
