I'm nearly finished with my complete re-watch of the show and after watching The Girl in Gold Boots, I have to ask which movie had the least likeable cast? High School Big Shot is a front runner. Nobody is likeable, even the protagonist. At least in Gold Boots, Michelle & Critter semi-redeem themselves at the end (Michelle gets away from the sleazy guys and Critter turns them in and goes to the Army).

Basically you go to https://mst3k.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders/68623 and the $40 buy in gets you a bunch of stuff and the lost episodes. Awesome. Thanks.

I'm almost finished with my complete re-watch and last night was Squirm. That was filmed not far from where I live (Savannah) and the bots were right, nobody is that Southern. You'd have to go deep in the South to find accents like that. And, I have to admit, I found the weird sister oddly attractive.

Command Ant posted:High School Big Shot is what happens when I Accuse my Parents grows up and becomes bitter and jaded. And it's made worse when you find out what happened to Tom Pittman. quote:On October 31, 1958, Pittman was driving home after a Halloween party when he ran his Porsche Spyder off the road at a sharp curve in the Hollywood Hills. After he failed to return home, his father filed a missing persons report. On November 19, Los Angeles police officer, Roy Kerton, retraced the roads Pittman's father said his son liked to drive and found the wreckage at the bottom of a 150-foot ravine. Pittman's car had crashed through the guard rail, landed at the bottom of the ravine where it remained out of sight. Mangled corpse lying in a ravine for almost three weeks.

Jonah's been doing stand-up since he was 18, he's already worked on The Meltdown, so he's developed comedic timing and delivery for both live audiences and television shows for his entire career, whereas Joel and Mike "grew up" through MST3k. Joel did stand-up in the early-mid 80s, too.

Davros1 posted:Got the new boxset, and thiere's a nice little doc on there called "Mike, by Joel", in which Joe talks about how Mike came to hired for the show and about how he became the de facto go to actor for all the bit parts. The interesting bit is that when he was leaving, apparently Joel was pushing for Bridget to take over as host, instead of having, in his words, "another doughy mid-western guy". Though what is interesting is he wanted her to play Joel, just a Joel who had been hit by a sex change ray. Bridget is good with Mary Jo doing Rifftrax, but I don't think she could carry the whole show.
