From the CE thread it looks like there's a few of us who wish to travel back in time to 2003 and travel further to 1942. I know jack poo poo about setting up a BF server, but I figured if a thread was started someone smarter than me would get things rolling. My understanding is that the main problem is that one of the files specifically directs the game to find servers at a gamespy address...naturally that's gone, so that file needs to be replaced by one that links to a functioning site. The various fixes I've found seem to replace that file.

There are enough older games that 1) own 2) are free/cheap 3) would be prime for GIP to get drunk as gently caress and roll around in vehicles together that this could be a regular thing.
