Solice Kirsk posted:Nah, Frasier ruled. You were supposed to find the brothers a little off-putting and weird. Because they were. Also for a 90's show I think they handled trans issues and gay rights very well. I'm neither though, so who knows. The joke of Frasier seems to be that while the Crane brothers think they're upper-crust snobs, what they actually are is gigantic nerds who picked opera, art and wine instead of Star Trek, anime and energy drinks. They're also probably both on shitloads of self-prescribed pills.

Perhaps some kind goon could link to the drama/saga or maybe there are posts about it in this thread people recall that they could quote. Doing my best to think of sagas I don't know much about. From what I gather it's the same story as most of the internet; grown men started unironically talking about cartoon ponies, and everyone lost their minds. Also possibly porn. Auspol got the occasional span of pony prolapse porn for years afterwards.

I mean, it's kind of amazing to see people being complete and total idiot nerds over drugs. Show that to kids. 'Don't do drugs, you'll end up arguing with people on internet forums over whose pill selection is best and insisting there's no problem with you losing limbs and blacking out for days on end and waking up having spent all your money on pianos'.

For a... an event that's become almost entirely about aesthetics over practicality, you'd think bodybuilding would encourage people to make their bodies look nice instead of horrific, grotesque parodies of the human form. It's like super-inbred animal shows but for humans.

Unobtainium posted:I posted that salad mountain back then, I just checked to see if I still have the images but no such luck. I had read an article before about people stacking their salads higher and higher and grabbed the images from there, I am nowhere near patient enough to put in that much effort for a salad. If you Google "pizza hut salad tower" you will find that since then, people have been crafting salad towers roughly 5 times the size of what I posted, to the point where Pizza Hut in China have removed their salad bars altogether. I recall stories from the GBS China thread about mainlanders going to ridiculous efforts to stack their plates at buffets, but barely actually eating any of the food. I'm gonna put that down to famine-developed habits really loving with people down the line.

So of course they're a magnet for complete idiots who think 'Cute = perfect pet for me and my children and cats!!' and refuse to listen to literally anything else even when their children get mauled.
