Since Dead Rising 4 is back in Willamette does this mean that the Ghost of Otis will call us up constantly and get angry when Zombies interrupt the call?

Frank's a good guy, a little selfish at times because he just wants to get a good scoop regardless of the constantly shifting situation with Carlito and Isabella but he does do the right thing, even though he grumbles about it a lot at first.

VV My 360 literally RRoD'd within a day or two after doing that. But at least I got my Real Mega Buster and Real Lazer Sword!

I only made it to Day 5 of that mode before I died of boredom, I had one of the later post RRoD crisis models so my Xbox didn't explode afterwards.

Dead Rising 3 ran at single digit framerates without a single zombie on screen and was unplayable on my PC that could run Witcher 3 on high, so I'm glad that DR4 will be on the PS4.

Its a timed exclusive for the Bone and PC so it'll be on PS4 about a year later and considering PS4 didn't get DR3 at all, I'll take it.

September 13th for all games and platforms. $20 each or all three for PS4 and Xbox One for $49.99. All of the titles run at 1080p at 60 frames per second, except Dead Rising 1 on PC which will supposedly support 4K resolutions and 144 Hz. Dead Rising 1 has also been reworked to include 5 save slots too instead of just one, which should fix one of the complaints I've heard on SA about the first game.

Steam page for Dead Rising 1 is up here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/427190/

Multiple save slots for Dead Rising 1's pretty cool, the big issue that game has is the time limits are super strict, you really need to haul rear end on the later scoops and may God have mercy on you if you don't have the toilet shortcut unlocked by then.

Did they make the AI pathing in DR1 not a complete pile of poo poo, because that was the one complaint I had about that otherwise perfect game

Nope, its exactly as it was back on the 360, I've already have AI survivors running into walls, taking forever to maneuver around benches and all sorts.

The convicts were only ever a problem for me if I was escorting survivors. The survivors would end up getting murdered. But if I was by myself, I could usually easily kill them.

For me the convicts spend most of the time driving into trees until I am escorting people then they know exactly where I am and beeline for me.

Played for an hour this morning before work, saved Aaron and Burt and the two of them proceeded to not only not follow any of my waypoints, they also got in the middle of a zombie gangbang that I had to rescue them from. Then they ran to the nearest pillar and mashed their faces against it while running in place.

Ahhhhhhhhh, it's good to be back :allears:

I couldn't even save Ross, he just didn't want to climb the ledge to reach the safehouse, I managed to get Tonya inside after 5 minutes of setting markers but I had to put Ross down as I was in danger of failing the Medicine mission.

Dead Rising Wii also couldn't handle more than like 10 Zombies on screen at once so the Mall was incredibly empty at all times.

I completely forgot about the rear end in a top hat Cultists who show up during the afternoon of Day 2, but I was packing a Small Chainsaw so I killed them all after the intro cutscene and rescued Jennifer with no real issues.

The Cult leader though kicked the poo poo out of me and out of all the survivors he had hostage, only the girl in the storage room survived the trip to the security room.

Yeah, there is a lot of stores in the game that have no purpose at all. The worst example being the North Plaza, that is just a bunch of empty rooms outside of the CD store and weapon shop.

Well the main draw of the game was the massive, for the time, amount of zombies on screen at once in an environment that was pretty detailed for 2006, Dead Rising 1 was also responsible for many an Xbox 360 self destructing due to the 7 day survivor mode because the dreaded RRoD was rampant then.

The main thing I have noticed when replaying DR1 is how cramped the Mall is, North Plaza is basically wall to wall Zombies from Day 2 onwards and its a living nightmare trying to escort people as they will be swarmed constantly and get trapped in the middle of Zombie hordes.

Even though 2/OTR and 3 have even higher Zombie counts its balanced better by the areas being much bigger so you don't feel so squashed in like you do in 1.

Yeah, taking survivors through such populated areas becomes a massive pain. Only reasonable way to deal with it all is to throw some queens.

I've been replaying through DR2 OTR and it's still pretty fun but survivor health seems really minuscule. I remember hearing that the survivor AI and health got nerfed in OTR compared to vanilla DR2. Was that actually true?

OTR was designed purely to mess with people who knew base DR2 inside and out, most of the survivors are in new locations, there's even brand news ones and all the Zombrex drops were moved.

Compare Adam the Clown in DR 1 to his brother Evan in OTR, Adam is shown as a deadly threat who has a pretty sad reason for being the way he is, Evan is played the total opposite, there's wacky music playing when he shows up, he rants about ice cream and drives a literal Butt Car.

Gathering the Bombs under the mall is still an awful experience, its made even more fun by being swarmed by thousands of zombies and Carlito driving into you and throwing grenades a lot.

I know you can escort Bibi and her hostages through the Gas Zombies in DR2 as her mission doesn't expire until after the Gas event starts, why you would want to do this is another matter entirely.

First 33 minutes of Dead Rising 4.

It looks terrible. I also don't understand why they bother having Frank be the main character if they were going to change how he looks and his voice.

Standard practice at Capcom, pretty much every character in Resident Evil has had 3 or more different voice actors over the years.
