Finally, a piece of zombie media that ties both zombies and consumerism together!!! Makes you think. The only thing I got out of that interview is that the time limit reappears near the end of the game, so at least it'll almost assuredly have multiple endings. I thought they had gotten rid of those too.

Around 3's release there was a rumour going around that it only got made because of Microsoft and Capcom was already ready to shitcan the series before then, so that wouldn't surprise me. Considering 3's ending, it might've been true.

Considering all they removed, I'm going to assume they didn't contact LifeSeeker and got them to do something for this game. They were the WWWWWWWWWEEEEELLLLLLLLLL guys from the first game and later on Capcom got them to do the credits theme for Off the Record.

I never finished Off the Record, but I thought it was a What If/alternate continuity storyline to Dead Rising 2 and not a side story. Especially since Chuck is a boss fight and Katie is dead.

Dead Rising 4 is kind of a mess but I'm near the end of Case 2 and Frank's personality, default outfit, the city's design and overall tone makes the entire game feel like a reimagining of Evil Dead A Fistful of Boomstick , which I played and finished over a decade ago and never expected to think about ever again. Other than that the game feels extremely empty despite how detailed the environments are. Most of my time so far has been spent following the objective marker and very rarely I'll get a prompt to clear a safe house. Is that really all there is to do? Unless you're into hunting collectibles there doesn't seem to be anything to do now that you no longer have to escort survivors and the timer is gone.
