Is there any way to buy a model 2 VA4 Genesis? I've been scouring eBay and looking at / requesting pictures but I haven't had any luck yet. Local shops all seem to have VA1 or VA3.
I think I have two VA4s if those are the ones with the stubby motherboard visible from the bottom. I'm actively using one now but the reset button doesn't work, I need to tshoot this first to see if I need to switch to the other. No promises on a timeline here I guess, but maybe later.

On a genesis topic, these showed up in the mail! $70 for the pair on ebay seemed fair to me. One has a slight tear on the cover, the other has a rental-style photocopy manual, but honestly I like that type of throwback.

The one I have I bought off of racketboy forever ago. They don't sell stuff anymore. What's a good non-crap cable to pick up?

Look on eBay for one that *doesn't* have a composite connector.

This is actually a pretty common myth, the Sega CD will happily output stereo sound without using the headphone jack routed to the SCD UNLESS you want to use the RCA ports on the back of your Sega CD for convenience or something. Obviously if you're using Mono, then it'll also output that fine via RF or composite.
It's not a myth that the Genesis model 1 av jack doesn't have stereo out, it just doesn't.

But sure the Sega CD has stereo RCA out if you have it attached to a model 1.

My Turbo Duo stopped reading CD-R's about 15 minutes after deciding to spend the day playing Dracula X. It just went black, but before that the music track would play once in a level but not loop. I also tested a few other games Id burned months ago - Lord of Thunder, Ys 4, now they all just go black when you load. Fortunately it still plays real discs. Curious if anyone else encountered this? They're all the same type of media and burner so it's hard to adjust that variable.
