My dad wanted to try video games once so I started up Link to the Past for him. I left the room and came back ten minutes later to find him still inside Link's house. "The guy said it's dangerous out there and I should stay inside. How much longer is he gonna be?"

We worked out a deal where one day a week I could play in 256 color VGA mode, but the rest of the time I had to play in 4 color CGA. I didn't actually mind because the frame rate was much much better.

I never played Pokémon either, I'm just old enough that it wasn't a thing yet when I was a kid. Maybe if my kids get into it in a few years I'll dive in with them. They already know more Pokémon than I do from watching their mother play GO.

when I was a kid we went on a trip to visit grandma but I spent the whole time playing final fantasy legend ii on my gameboy and looking back that was really rude of me. sorry grandma
