Did I miss the discussion for the demo of a SRW AP English patch? It translates the first 4 missions of the game, on all routes. This includes menus, battle quotes, as well as character bios and mecha descriptions (that can be unlocked so far). I thought it was rather polished for a mere demo.

Which version of Great Mazinger is in the preview?

No, there's a Great much earlier, too (1:06, unless I really have my Mazingers confused).

I assume it's just kind of a generically polished Great to go with the original Shin Mazinger before they get bumped into ZERO and Mazin Emperor G.

Yes, that's the one I meant. Great Mazinger's head showed up as a silhouette in the Shin Mazinger anime, so it's hard to tell if they based it on that. I've seen from scans that it also shows up in the Shin Mazinger Zero manga, but only in the parts that haven't been scanlated, and even then only individual pages I glimpsed a while ago, so I couldn't tell for sure.

Honestly I'm not even sure which Tetsuya it's meant to be.

Edit: I forgot anime Zeorymer at least toned that down anyway (I don't know anything about anime Demonbane so maybe that does too). Whoops.
Though I've not watched it all the way through yet, the Demonbane anime is toned way down from what I've seen. It works, since the visual novel was really just a super robot story with random porn thrown in.

I was vaguely aware of Super Robot Wars, primarily because I came across Mazinkaiser while searching online, and learned where it had come from. I never actually played any of them until AGTP patched Super Robot Wars 3. It is kind of hilarious how little I knew about mecha anime before playing that, and I became obsessed with it as a result.

Allowing pilots from other series to control Zearth would be a good use for ZZ Gundam's supporting cast.

I remember finding out during the W LP that he'd just written down that the pink thing Mikoto turns into in GaoGaiGar was a giant robot or something, so he also doesn't do any followup to make sure his poo poo is usable to all the people trying to get an understanding of what's happening from it.
In his Alpha 3 summary, he described that exact fight as coming from a filler episode. :psyduck:

Really a shame about Shin-Getter. I watched the few episodes of Yuusha Raiden that they subbed, and I liked what I saw. At least we got Zambot 3 and Space Runaway Ideon.

(*) Brave Express Mightgaine: A TV series that aired 1993 to 1994, first in the Brave franchise, about a boy named Maito Senpuji who pilots the brave robot Mightgaine to battle evil. When Maito faced the evil mastermind Black Noir in the final episode, Black Noir referred to himself as a three-dimensional person while claiming Maito and his team were just game data in a two-dimensional world, a very meta plot twist. They did not delve too deeply into this idea in the show, but in the ending of the final episode, there is a cel image of Maito and the female lead having a wedding.

Haro points are determined by the amount of damage you inflict. If you inflict overwhelming damage to the enemy units, it'll help increase the Haro points. There isn't any other way that I'm aware of.

It's going to be weird to have Mazinger ZERO and Mazin Emperor G and Mazinkaiser in the same game, since they're all pretty much upgrades for Kouji and Tetsuya. The solution, of course, is to put Boss in the extra one. :getin:

The inclusion of Cowboy Bebop reminded me of Sunrise World War, a PS2 RPG cross over with a lot of Sunrise properties. That included Cowboy Bebop, alongside Gundam (of course), Big O, Metal Armor Dragonar, Gear Fighter Dendoh, and so on.

Real happy about Captain Harlock, too, as that was one of the first anime I watched as a kid.
