I throw the colors and whites in the washer and run it on cold, comes out fine and clean every time. I don't know why people bother with separating these things, sounds like it's made up nonsense that takes up extra precious time.

Reasons to separate out whites from colors: 1) one or more of the color pieces are new and will bleed like a motherfucker in the washer 2) you've spilled something on one of your whites and want to use bleach to get it clean 3) you want to wash your whites on the hottest setting because you've done something disgusting to them and need to be assured the germs will go away If it's not in those three categories, throw everything in together on cold and enjoy your easy laundry.

i throw everything in together and use the hottest water setting and just dump the detergent on top of the clothes instead of putting it in that little compartment thing, and my clothes come out just fine
