"Carbons? Purge? What are you talking about?!"

Steely Dan is full of these.

Pretzel Logic is about time travel.

Don't Take Me Alive is about an Asimovian robot holding a bunch of people hostage as part of an existential crisis about the nature of life.

Peg is about convincing a woman to let you record sex with her by plying her with other pornography.

Chain Lightning might sound like it is about gay sex from literally everything about the lyrics but it's supposedly about the frightening intensity that spreads through KKK hate rallies like a disease.

Supposedly.

Possum Kingdom is about Vampires, idgaf what the band says

I Want You by Third Eye Blind is also about vampires, you can tell by all the lyrics talking about vampires.

(actually is that song about a sexual predator or some drug I'm not hip enough to know or what the hell)

"Carbons? Purge? What are you talking about?!"

Nah, the 3EB song. The chorus is "you do you do you do you do you do, you're making me want you" while some guy in the background sings "calling all you vampires". I think there's also a faint woman's voice shrieking or talking in the background (much like Peg which I mentioned above, which has a woman sobbing "I don't want to do this" in the background of the last verse.)

E: the song may genuinely be about vampires.

"Time Out of Mind" is sung from the perspective of a heroin dealer trying to entice a young person into using it.

"Gaucho" is supposedly about a wealthy gay couple that is fighting over one of the dudes side pieces.

and of course, "Everyone's Gone to the Movies" is about a neighborhood pedo called Mr. LaPage showing all of the local teenagers 8mm porn movies while their parents think they've gone to the cinema.

probably the most subversive band ever. Pretty much every single track they ever recorded is about some kind of creep, lowlife, dealer or gangster

Definitely. It's common knowledge these days but I've always kind of wondered how many people knew the band was named after a (fictional) dildo back in their heyday.

"Carbons? Purge? What are you talking about?!"

The Willing Well I: Fuel for the Feeding End is about how God is some emo moron in upstate New York who doesn't own a shirt, and he's so butthurt about his girlfriend blowing some other guy that he decides to kill the universe that he created, so he goes into the universe and kills an angel that he created based on his girlfriend to make his own analogue in the universe emo enough to go Super Saiyan and blow up the galaxy.

He does this all while carrying on a conversation with a bicycle.

I didn't make any of this up.
