Share your recent music acquisitions here. Vinyl, CDs, tapes, Whether it's stuff you've never heard before, or favorites you finally got a physical copy of, or new copy, let's show off our material possessions!

A few weeks ago, a large collection of records in mint-y condition showed up at a record store in the city I until recently lived. The owners were very good friends of mine and helped me through some hard times, and the collection was mostly 80s stuff falling under the "post-punk" umbrella, which is very much my thing. So, as soon as the shop posted the collection on facebook, to help out and get myself some cool stuff before it was gone, I sent a PM to the owner requesting they move a few records to my new address as soon as they got a money order from me. The records I got came in the mail today. Let's take a look:

Bauhaus - Bela Lugosi's Dead single
This is what I most wanted, an original single of my favorite song by a band I like very much. Cool, long version of "Bela Lugosi's Dead" with the long, ominous intro with the bat wing noises

The Housemartins - London 0 Hull 4
I don't have much to say about this album except that it's very pleasant and I've liked it a lot since high school but only ever had digital copies. It basically sounds like the Smiths, but with left-wing Marxist lyrics.

Gang Of Four - Entertainment!
One of my favorite post-punk albums, definitely my favorite Go4 release. a mess of jagged guitars and nervous vocals screaming about alienation and capitalism.

Michelle Shocked - Short, Sharp, Shocked
The only record in these four I have never heard. I'm waiting a few days to listen to these so that I can put them on during a day off while cleaning my house, and I'm very excited and curious about this record. Apparently, Michelle Shocked is one of the quintessential 80s originators of folk-punk (before it got all tumblr-y and cute like Days 'N' Daze and whatever poo poo is popular right now that is called folk-punk)

So there you have it! Share and discuss music purchases you've recently made!
