Well Assault Horizon kind of does, if we're strictly speaking from a player controlled character who pilots a plane in a game about flying planes. And if we are, I made her look drat good with that amazing flying I did in that Nap of the Earth canyon run with that big rear end gunship

If you're playing at hard or below you don't need to worry about missiles though.

To be fair I take Ace Combat seriously. But when it's so obviously hammy (I mean half or more of the characters in Battlezone are named directly after developers) I will definitely poke fun at it. It doesn't mean I'm not highlighting the important bits of its story, just talking over the redundant information.

William Bishop being Travis Touchdown in a plane would be pretty cool.

radintorov posted:Lunethex, in that Assault Horizon mission you don't fly an AC-130: you fly the B-1B Lancer, one of the coolest and most under-represented supersonic bombers still in active service and one of the reasons it's not a bad game. This is what you fly. I just refer to every every gunship as an AC-130 because people who used hacks in Call of Duty grief videos had infinite ammo on it and flooded the map in 105mm cannon fire so I think it's funny to always call them AC-130s. I know for a fact I was flying this thing under the radar in a night time mission through canyons and pulling off sick, impossible turns. I just wear a cowboy hat and boots everywhere I go. And only those two items.

AradoBalanga posted:It's nice to hear Invincible Fleet in its proper context (previously heard it in Lunethex's RE6 LP). But yeah, I can see why one would be turned off to the mission with such a giant map to cover and so many targets to hit. Like, I guess the sheer volume of targets was intended to be an early place to rake in cash to buy planes/weapons/colors as the game goes on, mostly so the player wouldn't be strapped for cash at an inopportune moment and have to engage in a dogfighting mission with an A-10 or a F-4. How does anyone besides me remember this usage of it? Also complete disagree how could anyone be turned off this mission it's easy, just longer than most. In mission 6, at 12:53, watch the radar for one of the planes spazzing the gently caress out.

The real concern is that this game is held back by the need to gimmickize it with VR

http://www.dualshockers.com/2016/12/05/ace-combat-7-return-strangereal-reason/ The plot literally thickens. quote:I would definitely say that it has a similar tone to 4 and 5, because the person who is working on the script is Katabuchi-san, who wrote the script for 4 and 5. Of course, there are going to be different perspectives that we’ll explore in the cutscenes, so we have got backstories of the different parties at play in this fictional world. And we also take a look at the theme of war in general, kind of taking a step back and examining what that means.

My morale'd be lost instantly if a plane loaded with almost a hundred missiles came bearing down on my location.

The line about how 'nobody will be gripping a control stick and taking to the skies anymore' bugs me. The whole point of the COFFIN system is that it replaces that method of flight, people are still going to be flying around but way better

The only thing I can be sure of at this hour of watching anime non-stop is that the thread title needs to work the phrase "take it all away" in. I don't mean use that entire phrase but it could be like ...took all my away in ACE COMBAT 5: THE UNSUNG WAR ... denotes something I can't think of. I had to post after getting a notice on my skype-o-phone. e The Yukes took all my democracy away in ACE COMBAT 5: THE UNSUNG WAR Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War - This one won't be taken away <- the other thread just stop out of nowhere right? I just feel it has to be there because it's to AC5 what what's-that-song is to Top Gun. Lunethex fucked around with this message at 09:31 on Feb 21, 2017 |
