I always imagined Amos as the Big Show from WWE, just, like, a better actor than Paul Wight.

The thing about the ending is, I don't think it's the ripple killing them. I think the fact that they keep saying x "never even saw what killed them" is implying that the either whatever's actually causing the "disintegration" effect or something afterwards is being drawn to the energy backlash and gobbling the ships up. I mean, this is entirely my interpretation, but I can't shake it from my mind.

He's gonna roll through the gate with a fleet full of whatever the equivalent will be of the Earth destroyers with bolted on Shadow tech from that one episode of Babylon 5.

To the inners, yeah, basically. Though beyond Saturn there aren't a lot of dense colonies, from what I remember.

I would imagine the Saturnian moons that are of scientific or mineral usefulness would have outposts, but shipping from that far would probably limit them to specifically exporting elements and compounds that wouldn't appear or be harder to retrieve further down the well.

Eros was Space Vegas. Casinos and cheap hotels. Presumably some nice areas because casinos, but not too nice given what went down there.

Space Atlantic City, maybe.

There's no need to be that mean to Eros.

Yeah, that's why the second slowdown is so catastrophic: everyone and everything inside the ships still has inertia once the speed limit drops to a walking pace.

There's still three books yet to be released, and I bet we'll see plenty of weird protomolecule shenanigans by the end of it. I'm hoping for more inexplicable Clarketech and weird beetle robots, myself.

Pastor Anna is the best point of view character.

The security system only looks at objects exposed to space or inside the station itself, it doesn't worry about stuff below the skin of a ship (so bullets are allowed) or below the skin of a human or spacesuit (so fast biological functions are allowed).

This is the same reason it's so catastrophic when the speed limit adjusts the second time.

Book 4 was extremely my jam and I hope with the next couple books we get some real wild-rear end descriptions of other colonized planets to help fuel my imagination. The Clarketech ruins, the alien life, the robot crabs, I love all of it. Makes me really sad we've never gotten a drat Rama TV series.

Yeah, tell them all that verbatim.

Honestly it's fine. Nobody bones down super hard in the Expanse novels, it just happens as a plot point. At that age I'd already read all of the Rama books and any of the sex scenes in those are a thousand times more explicit than anything in The Expanse.
