Does Live Another Life introduce any weird Sperguson stuff?

Great, thanks! Given Arthmoor's rep I wasn't sure if he'd take liberties.

There aren't any mods out that allow jumping from sprint, are there?

Well I'm about 2 hours into SE and the Whiterun stable has already been massacred by roving bands of vampires. That fix needs SKSE, doesn't it

Is the Open Cities mod on the SE Nexus and can it be slotted into an existing save?

I'm having the same issue with Frostfall I had with Project Nevada, which is that while it's admittedly a feat of engineering, it still feels cumbersome and hacked-on alongside the native mechanics of the game. Having to manage all the powers and then set up camp and then only being able to access the perk menus using a floating bug-form UI is a lot of steps to manage a meter. I can't be bothered to use it enough to make the toll on your carry weight worth it. Cool concept, but the #1 way to gently caress up my immersion is to give it a bunch of dials and levers that take a good minute to properly access.

Honestly if the fire keeping and camp setting were integrated that would go a long way for me. Having two entirely separate systems (and the tent setup isn't even something you can make a shortcut for, you have to go into your inventory, tab over to find it, and activate it) for the two exposure mechanics is just too much. I just light campfires in caves and leave it at that. The tent mechanic feels like an armory display mod, mainly there for screenshot purposes. It's bad.

Kiggles posted:You're probably approaching Frostfall wrong. It isn't a QoL mod. It is the exact opposite of a QoL mod. It does nothing but make trouble for you. It only works when you apply that same philosophy to everything. Having to eat and drink and carry different kinds of armor around for different environments, none of that is fun, and the way it's been integrated isn't particularly immersive. I had one bit of good stuff from Frostfall so far, which was strategically constructing small camps along the climb to High Hrothgar. Even though my character was a light armor specialist and didn't really need to stop and tend fires it added the cosmetic appearance of a new challenge. I could envision my character having to deal with summit wind storms in a practical fashion, even if the mod's actual simulation was abstruse. It's total conversion's natural flaw, from that goon-led Diablo 2 mod to Project Nevada to Long War - you need to constantly patch on newer and more fidgety elements to ensure the last ones are working as intended. Over time deep cracks in design tend to reveal themselves and the game becomes far less forgiving. I've also yet to play a forage-or-die game that didn't break itself once you got past the quarter mark. I imagine there's a mod to make food spoil so you have two hours to cook raw food and then another two hours to eat it before it becomes worthless? I'm getting pumped just thinking about it. I've fiddled with exposure rates to try and make them interesting and there's no happy medium between "minor inconvenience" and "floor is lava whenever you're outside" that I've found. Certainly nothing that made me think "thank God I selected a drop zone for my fireplace and triggered the 15 second flint-and-tinder animation, my rear end was almost grass." I'd much rather play a TC of Skyrim that removed everything but the butterfly collecting, honestly, were it not for the fact that I've had fast travel disabled for awhile and... Skyrim's just not that fun to move through. Some of the environments are quite spectacular but they lack the character and density of FO4, which really made the most of disabling fast travel. Skyrim has its biomes but they're not as stimulating as a massive city ruin. Basic Chunnel fucked around with this message at 08:36 on Nov 3, 2016 |

It also goes without saying that the things you do and see while wandering through Tamriel are really just window dressing for the real draw - the passive experience of hearing Morrowind's score again.

i was approaching Frostfsll as an environmental hazard mod rather than a needs mod. It borked itself about the point I realized that most spots on the map allowed you to harvest wood while your campfire was active, thereby removing near all risk from resource gathering as long as you have the materials to start a 3 hour glow. Obviously I don't agree that the ways to play Skyrim should be straight vanilla or full-on Minecraft transplant job.

What are some goods mods, new-ish, from 2018 for Skyrim Classic on that wouldn't be contained in the OP? Got a new PC and decided that Skyrim sans SPERG isn't worth it. Anything interesting and good

After many years of modding, I found the perfect mod combination… the one that makes ingredients weightless and the one that makes all potions .1 lbs

Ultimately, rushing into camps while every enemy bum rushes your rear end isn't interesting. Bethsoft melee has never been interesting. The game doesn't let you methodically pick enemies apart the way, say, Far Cry would, but it makes combat less of a chore. Skyrim's ranged physics (including shouts) are as satisfying as the combat gets

Pretty sure there’s a sperg-ordinator merge mod

One of the follower mods, maybe EFF (??) ostensibly has settings for “can be killed by anything” / “can only be killed by you” / “cannot be killed at all”, but idk if that actually works. Also let’s just come out and say it, sometimes you marry someone and they bizarrely stop being a merchant, so you bring them along for some dragon hunting and accidents ensue

Do they have good SPERG-included wabbajacks for a clean install? I'd like to get back into the butterfly catching game

Shoulda gone all the way and cut the ebony / orcish swords and daggers as well as the Blades katana. The future of our culture is at stake here We also ought to take a look at curved bows, but when they kiss it’s hot so that’s a trickier thing

Gonkish posted:If they can make Morrowine look like that, imagine what they can do for Skyrim. Assuming it works well, it might become a preferred means of implementing model replacement and whatnot. Plus, it might enable DLSS? Somehow?

Is there even a non-SE Run For Your Life mod? I got dragons up in Windhelm toasting my favorite beggars but Arthmoor’s diaper site seems to only have SE, not LE

Something in my modlist broke reverse pickpocketing had to use EFF to brute force Bran-Shei into my party so I could just give him the stolen ring, then dismiss him. No more paralyzing trainers and taking my money back…

A modder like Arthmoor is special not solely because they’re PsOS but bc they indulge themselves horribly with poo poo line “useless oblivion gates everywhere” that dampen their “genius” rep, and allow you to more freely see using their actual useful mods as a kind of looting. You can at least take pleasure in the fact that you’re spiting them
