Triple H is good, but people mad at him? Much better. Being there when the ref counted three over Samoa Joe's body? Even better than that

The near-total focus on Roode in the hype package for Takeover gives you a sense of where Almas is right now.

If they really are turning Ciampa heel then I guess TM61 would be the next guys to go after the Revival. But tbh they should keep Garciampo together, they're one of two face teams on the NXT roster and it would leave the Authors of Pain kind of rudderless.

It's funny, I was complaining about how NXT's lost that golden period feeling of being able to elevate midcard talent that would be otherwise neglected (at that time the only guy who seemed lost in the shuffle was Tyler Breeze, now we have Andrade and Dillinger and Jose and and and), then Ryan Ward moves to Smackdown and all of a sudden The Miz and fuckin Heath Slater start looking good / getting heat. I mean the Miz thing in particular could crest and collapse at any moment but still, #askquestions

Like I want to root for Andrade, but I just don't think NXT has the juice (let alone the willingness) to get him over when the TNA guys and the title pictures eat up all the TV time. We scoffed at Rovert when he went hard against Eric Young but I see where he came from now. At least one of these older big name guys should be putting younger talent over and building them toward the main event. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Viewership drop is consistent with thread response at least - we had under 25 posts about last nights episode, which means goons are more passionate about shitposting on any given 15 minute stretch of RAW than watching NXT. I'm going to go ahead and blame the fact that the endless Takeover rematches are giving Ruthless Aggression-era Trips / Nash matchups a run for their money in terms of killing anticipation. Plus they've failed to build faces outside of the champ and DIY, and Asuka's a tweener Hogan smothering the women's division. What's more surprising and bewildering is that Talking Smack isn't in the top 10. Basic Chunnel fucked around with this message at 15:40 on Sep 29, 2016 |

He wasn't exactly lighting up the ring in his weekly TV matches, frankly. Has Big Dave said anything one way or the other about Joe getting called up? People seem to assume he's going but to me he seems like he has more upside as an NXT guy. Regardless, cards post-Joe seem pretty bleak. Nakamura / Roode isn't exactly a dream match. If Roddy has signed they need to get him in there.

Were I booking this I'd take some of the thrown together teams, like Tye / Roode and Cedric / Almas, and have them lose to new tag teams as part of angles for the former and heat building for the latter. I'd use the high card singles teams like Nakamura / Itami to knock out the more well-established teams (say, Authors of Pain) in close bouts to keep the losers strong. But I would mark either TM61 or Authors of Pain to win it all, someone who's not in title contention but will be in the next cycle.

# ¿ Oct 5, 2016 05:23 |

Glorious Perfection is a face / heel team so they're going to split up at the slightest pressure (probably Tye taking the pin when Roode doesn't help him). But it's hard to imagine Sanity being put over Itami / Nakamura, especially when there are already four tag teams getting pushed.
