He was put on medical leave for heart problems, and was replaced with a middle-aged Scottish woman who wore dress suits made of leather every day and was perpetually angry for no reason at all.

My friend got divorced and ended up looking to date someone who was the polar opposite of her ex-husband. This ended up being Davis. My husband and I were invited to hang at his place a couple of times, it was the upper floor of a lovely rental house that he had filled with military paraphernalia and garbage used furniture. One of the times he took out his laptop and showed us Land Before Time porn.

He was extremely hateful of women even then, their relationship ended when he put my friend in the hospital after assaulting her. She had been arguing with him when he went off on how women are all golddiggers and are only interested in men for their money. She said to him "Well, then why am I with you?"

I absolutely abhor that shitstain of a human being.

Edit: To be fair, these events date back to before 2010, so we didn't know anything about him at all. He was just another guy at a bar in Calgary.

Well, I didn't like him personally, but it wasn't up to me to tell my friend how to feel or think. Back then he wasn't anything at all like he is now. He never talked about his hatred of women or his white supremacy or any political point when I was around him, he was just kind of a douchebag who I wouldn't normally choose to be friends with because our personalities clashed. Unfortunately I wasn't able to see into the future and predict that he would get violent or turn into the Gamergate fuckwad he became in the last 7 or 8 years since the last time I was around him.

This is something we talk about in my tourism studies in school, that people assume non-Western countries are still these ancient exotic places and then get shocked when everyone is basically just like them.
