The Gawker folks were such assholes during the proceedings that I'm pretty sure they'd have lost a jury trial anywhere in America. Once you say you'd publish a sex tape as long as nobody involved was under four, you're practically begging the jury to light you the gently caress up.

Outing Thiel was only bad in that it could legitimate outing as a legitimate action against those that don't have the massive resources of Thiel Billionaires deserve no privacy as their actions can disproportionately impact the public and you know they are parasites on society overall My hot take

Peter Thiel made an implausible lawsuit happen because money. Gawker threw their chances away deliberately like loving morons and deserve what they get for it, but the whole case is dumb and I don't like the precedent it could set for the future.

Posting a sex tape, as in the actual sex tape for everyone to see and not just reporting its existence: ok and newsworthy, especially since Hogan couldnt *prove* it was stolen. It could have come from anywhere! And we all know that if a victim can't definitively prove their victim status, the only right thing to do is leave the sex tape up until a judge orders you to take it down. This is a valid use of journalistic license and an ok thing to do. This is a thing you actually believe.
