The tackiness of the clothing in this one is definitely 70s:

You can definitely tell this one is old. I doubt the "Johannesburg Music Festival" would allow you to record this nowadays.

"Load" was such a good title for that album.

This one is perfect for the repressed 1950s woman. Jenny is sad because the tiny man on her shoulder keeps smearing paint around her eye. Also, check out the title of the B-side, too.

This album takes an image from a 70s porno and uses it to full effect, looking like something you'd find in a slimy adult bookstore during the golden age of porn. But it was released in 2013.

This is about as 2004 as it gets:

I've always loved the look on the middle guy's face. I like to think that it's a sort of meta thing, where they're dressed in demeaning costumes but at least they get to kill the obnoxious woman who made them do it for her album cover. But the middle guy is lost in a sea of happy thoughts about seeing that woman dead. Apparently Anna Russell's main act was to sing Gilbert and Sullivan parodies, so I don't blame him.

What was it with the early 90s and putting babies and little kids on stuff? Radiohead did Pablo Honey, Nirvana did Nevermind, and the Smashing Pumpkins did Siamese Dream. Anyway, this is Radiohead's 90's cover:

Here's their turn of the millennium cover from 2000:

And here's their most recent cover from this year, which is like the pinnacle of horrible modern covers (and for those of you who haven't heard it, the music is just as bad and boring as the cover and name)
