In the player creator the uncanny valley is well in effect, but then once I look at my player card my player looks like he was just caught smuggling moonshine.

I've got to say though that without a face scan I was able to make a player who looks almost EXACTLY like me...if I was 6'1' 180lbs.

I am a little underwhelmed on the gameplay stuff (I think 2K is starting to slide down the Madden slide of "half-assing releases"), but nothing seems majorly broken or anything.

I'd say it's the mountain of minor things that have built up over the years. At it's core the game is great, it's fun, engaging, and overall a pretty stellar Basketball Sim.

Once you get deeper into the gameplay and game though, there are things that are just becoming so glaringly bad, that it's a wonder if the 2K team plays their game past a casual player's threshold.

I can only speak to All-Star Team Up Online gameplay, as my pro is still weak, and I've only done 2 pro-am games. Though in those, I was privy to some of the things people complain about there.

In All-Star Team Up though, here's my small list of things that have needed to be addressed for generations of 2K:

- Punish quitters, the only mechanic is that after a few quits it'll inform you that "You suck at life," but after a few hours that message goes away and you're free to quit after bricking your first 9 shots as Curry.
- Connection issues, it's 2016 and I'm wired to my router AND live in a major metropolis, any reason 2 out of 5 games are riddled with delayed gaming and stuttering?
- Moving screens, still.
- Timeouts, the loving timeouts
- Vote kicking, why the hell can't a majority kick a lovely person?

I hate complaining about games, and I'm glad I bought the game. I'll buy it again next year, too. And I'll still play thousands of All-Star Team Ups.

Jump shot releases that I have used and liked: 25 and 27, I would use these for 1-3. Release 116 is super wet for bigger guys, I use it on my athletic finisher and he can wide open 3s and my stats are in the 40s for the 3.


edit: 1-3 meaning Positions 1-3 you get it

27 I think is a very JR Smith-type release. So naturally my shot creator PG has it. When you get a green release you feel amazing and it looks great.

This game sometimes... I'm on the Nuggets, I'm a point guard. i'm 79 overall, and I don't get many minutes I'm still on the bench. However, I just played a game against the Bulls where I knew I would be able to succeed because of Rondo. So going into the final seconds, final possession, we're down by three and I'm able to dunk and get it to be down by one. So is rondo takes the ball up I know I could pressure him and get it back which I do. But because 2K loving sucks I'm not able to pick up the ball and keep running. So I pass it to my man Justice Young, because I know he'll make it.

He passes on the wide-open three. And as I'm screaming at my TV I get the board. I mash shoot and score, but not before time expired. And to make matters worse my player didn't know that it wasn't before time expired and he was celebrating with the bulls. He was chest bumping Rondo Wade and Butler.

So far I'm having more fun in a second playthrough of MyCareer as a Glass Cleaner PF than I ever had as a Shot Creator PG.

badges are hard work though.

MyPARK/2K PRO-AM
Teams in Rivet City are again able to grab a Got Next spot while a game is in progress.
Fixed a hang that occurred to some users when they were hopping from one MyPARK to another.
Fixed a number of camera-related issues when shooting free throws during Pro-Am games.
Addressed an issue where some users were unable to use their custom jumpshot in MyPARK.
When editing your Pro-Am court, the backboard logo and wall texture can now be switched back to none/blank.
You can now view the team rosters of each team directly from the Power Rankings menu in Pro-Am.
All of your teammates will now have a unique color indicator when playing Pro-Am.
Grand Badges will now appear on the 2K Card in both MyPARK and Pro-Am.
MyCAREER/MyCOURT
You can now skip through story scenes that you have already watched.
Fixed an issue that would result in the user being unable to play their next game in MyCAREER (a restart is required if you are affected by this).
Fixed a case where some users were not seeing triggered story scenes.
Fixed an issue where some MyCAREER sponsor contracts were not rewarding the user with the correct amount of VC.
Corrected an issue where you could not purchase/equip shoes from your new company when switching shoe endorsements.
Addressed an issue where the phone in MyCAREER would inform the user of a new message when that was not the case.

MyGM/MyLEAGUE
Points of Emphasis have returned to the Gameplan feature! Note that these only affect simulation results.
The Advanced Rotations feature will now scale all rotations to work regardless of your chosen quarter length.
Fixed cases where some approved city names (e.g. Buffalo) were not being permitted through the content filter when moving your team to another city.
Fixed an issue where player attributes were being slightly modified when loading a draft class after the first season.
Injuries will now occur during head-to-head gameplay in MyLEAGUE Online.
Color improvements have been made to the Kansas City Knights uniform.
Fixed a hang that would occur when attempting to use SimCast on the Rising Stars game.
Expansion teams will no longer get unlimited funds in MyGM.
The NBA logo is now located in the correct spot on the shorts when creating a custom uniform.

Just played a proam. One guy delightfully took a billion deep threes so I was able to rebound. Not a single one bounced up and over.

As well, break starting is now adjusted, so your really need to have a clear lane on break starting. The ball doesn't fly outlandishly quick anymore.

A note to anyone who might be gearing up to create a new player: If you make a guard, and want a good dunk package, make sure to make them taller than 6'5". I just made a 6'3" LDD SG that I was hoping to have as a Dunk and D guy, but because I opted for speed over height, my driving dunk maxes out at 69 :smug:, making me unable to ever add the MJ or Clyde Drexler dunk packages.

Also, the fit bit boosts are awesome considering I use my fitbit app (for free) on my phone, and live in NYC, so I'm walking everywhere always.

Defensive centers are great with two shooters. You'll still get boards and rim protect, and then screens and PnR are deadly.
