Gin is a great spirit. Goes with tons of things and is generally always better than vodka. In vegas i bought a small bottle of beer in a casino for $7 and 1.5l of gordons gin in a plastic bottle in a liquor store for $13 way to go vegas

hendricks is some really good gin. the stuff i'm currently drinking had fennel seed to flavour it and it just tastes like fennel seed "hints of anise" like gently caress

Cheap gin is a great drink for people who are in denial about being alcoholics - because drinking cheap vodka is admitting to yourself that you are indeed an alcoholic, there is at least some plausible deniability with cheap gin.

i can't taste the difference between aldi gin, supermarket own brand gin, gordons gin or bombay dry gin. I suspect its all actually the same distillery. once you're onto the fancier gins i can but all the cheap gins are perfectly serviceable

You're telling me that drinks are expensive at a casino and cheap at a liquor store? This is a game changer.

it was more just how cheap it was in the liquor store. the same amount of gin in the UK would cost like $40 not $13

I always used to drink McCormick gin, $12 for a 1.75.

christ even cheap gin is really drinkable as far as i've determined so this is insanely cheap

fentimens can claim all they want their orignal style tonic is good for gin and tonics but they fail to realise that it tastes like poo poo and people adde the gin to make it drinkable in the first place for the quinnine

p sure it was invented because the quinine in tonic boosts your resistance to malaria and they put the gin in it so people would drink it since quinine is bitter as gently caress

also if you like tonic i highly recommend soda and lots of lime. its a lot cleaner, more refreshing, and you taste the gin more obviously

going to give this a go thanks op. i like a lot of lime in my gin already

On the scale of how much a liquor makes you mean, Gin is the clear winner.

i'm not sure if this is good or bad but you never see people get angry and smash/toss a gin and tonic on tv so i assume good

gin also mixes well with orange juice and ginger beer and most things. its a top, top spirit suitable for all occasions but in particular when you want to sit in the garden in the sun after work
