The end of Young Guns I used to like to think I was Billy the Kid, jumping out of some trunk and shooting up some Sherrifs and whatnot

The only time I ever rewatch a movie is if I'm "showing" it to someone else, so I haven't chosen to watch any movie more than maybe like, 3 times. I've got a backlogged list of movies that I want to watch that I'll never get through in my lifetime, so rewatching movies seems like a waste of time. I'm pretty sure I've unwillingly seen Fight Club at least a dozen times though. It has some sort of hypnotizing power over men. Every man I've ever lived with will always stop and watch it while channel surfing, or put it on if it's On Demand or available on Netflix or whatever. I really do not understand. My husband will spend nearly an hour browsing through all of his available movie option and at the end of the hour will just choose to rewatch Fight Club.

I watched Jurassic Park basically every school day of seventh grade. Probably a bunch on the weekends too. I would say it's easily on top but Christmas Story was a good answer, that's got to be getting up there now.Mnemosyne posted:I'm pretty sure I've unwillingly seen Fight Club at least a dozen times though. It's definitely a generational thing. For, say, my dad and a large part of his generation I'll bet it's either The Mummy or National Treasure. I think it has something to do with the idealized male main characters.

I wonder if the movies I thought were on constantly as a kid were really only on like two or three times. Like Regarding Henry.

I used to fall asleep watching Spirited Away every night, so the first half of that. If I have to have seen it all the way through, probably Remember the Titans.

Crow_Rodeo posted:Men of Honor with Cuba G Excellent performance in an overlooked movie. Guy's understated and authentic; Denzel by comparison is an unwatchable and unconvincing ham. Seconding Shawshank, as it's been unavoidable on cable for two decades now. One station plays it 24 hours straight during the holidays because... Goodfellas/Casino for the same reason but I was more inclined to let those run to completion back when tv was a thing.

I watched Fight Club so many times in middle school that I memorized most of the lines. I don't really care for it now, it took kind of a mediocre premise from the book and then squeezed out a lot of the interesting ideas about masculinity and left them on the floor. There's something intensely stupid about prime-time Brad Pitt sneering at an underwear model and asking if that's what a man is supposed to look like.

My youngest memories were living in a decent housing unit above a motel while my pops was the manager back in the 80s, so that meant all the free HBO I could stomach. I'd say Airplane! but I love that poo poo dearly so 2nd would have to be Heartbeeps with Andy Kaufman. I'm glad he's dead.

I vaguely remember hearing that it holds the jokes per minute record to this day, and even if someone has beat it, it absolutely still holds the good jokes per minute crown

Cars 2. I've seen it over 100 times. I have two boys, ages 4 and 2. They literally watch it on loop. Although, I did recently convince them to watch Minions and Findjng Dory. Although they watch those on loop now.

Grease. I'm not a big fan, but my sister watched it twice a day for a year when we were kids so I kind of absorbed at least 100 viewings via osmosis.

Between HBO, VH1, and Comedy Central, I think I've seen Airheads like 50 times. I could probably sit down and write the script and get it pretty drat accurate. At some point it slowly morphed into a guilty favorite. I ain't fartin' on no snare drum

I've seen titanic at least 30 times or so. I can't resist putting it on when I see it on TV. If TV shows count I've seen the entirety of stargate sg-1's 10 seasons somewhere around 18-20 times.
