as someone using linux for the time being until i get a new computer in a couple of weeks, linux loving blows i tried to find a launcher to open my doom wads with but all the linux ones you either have to compile it yourself or they're .jar files that just open as folders and not actual executables that i was led to believe

Learn how to traverse directories and edit files in vi so people looking over your shoulder can see you do basic things that look like they could be work related. Do this with a furrowed brow while making "hrmm" noises until whoever's there leaves then just google how to do whatever it is you're supposed to be doing. If it's some complicated networking thing maybe mumble something about firewalls or whatever "ugh these rules are hosed I have to just ugh ok gimme a bit" to buy some more time

I don't want to mess up your workflow." then you can trick them into explaining how you're supposed to do your job. also get really good at googling your problems. BAM, you've earned a livable income.
