I predict there will be magsafe-style analog audio out pins like on the edge of my old-rear end nexus 7. That would preserve the waterproofing rating and lets them sell a $39 thumbnail size 3.5 adapter, which is the essence of all things apple.

Did apple fire the highschool-level production team that flopped badly with overlapping audio and signal drop outs from three or four events ago? I hope not. It was wonderful to watch a billion dollars of R&D get reduced to the level of mic feedback and tripped over backstage cabling.
