Posting this so I can quote it like next year sometime I have a question about something I saw that reminds me of something you mentioned in the spoilers thread, so I'll take my question there.

Deathlove posted:e: Why would Dario not know who Joey Ryan was? Surely he is aware of everything that goes on in His Temple, the weird dude with the porn stache and lollipop would stick out, I'd think. Dario knew who Joey was. He just didn't know he was a cop.

sticklefifer posted:Surprised they had Dario drop a Big Ryck reference. Isn't he aware that Mil Muertes had Ryck's skull harvested for his throne last season? I imagine Dario IS aware and is just dropping the name because he's loving with Castro. Castro can't call him out on it without blowing his cover (not that he knows his cover's already been blown), and it's entirely in-character for Dario to gently caress with people like that.

Wasn't Vinnie one of the random jobbers back in Season 1? Just like Ricky Mandel was? Glad to see something actually happening with the random jobbers, not just completely writing them off.

Nice touch I liked this week was when Dario was talking about "NO ONE" was able to stand up to Matanza, he did the first half of Pentagon's Cero Miedo taunt.

GET IT BECAUSE HE WAS A SKELETON MAN YOU GUYS Worst part of that wasn't the "entering at Number Trece" call. It's that it wasn't even Striker doing it. It was Vampiro. Striker is contagious.

Another Striker Moment that got me rolling my eyes was his Clerks reference when Fox was coming out to the ring. "I talked to Dante Fox earlier tonight, and he told me first that he wasn't even supposed to be here today..."

LU revealed the Luchaverse names of the STARDOM girls on social media-- Doku (Hojo), Yurei (Miyu), and Hitokiri (Shirai). Or, translated as "Poison," "Ghost," and "Assassin." So look out for Striker dorking it up by talking about this, and possibly also Rurouni Kenshin references for Shirai.

Once they have a streaming deal in place with Netflix or wherever, I want LU to release DVD sets for each season. And while they're doing that, include the outtake reel of their filming all those backstage segments. Give me Luis Fernandez-Gil cracking up over the stuff he has to say. Give me John Hennigan flubbing his lines. Maybe include a special feature about the live bands they've had at the shows.

thelazyblank posted:It's when they pony up multiple times. Like, they'll bring in big money people for things like Anniversario, Young Lions (do they even do this anymore as its own show), the season finale, but King of Trios is 3 days worth of trying to get multiple teams of non-usual special event people out there. Young Lions Cup tends to be crowned at National Pro Wrestling Day in post-Ashes Chikara (and YLC 13 is this Saturday), but it's true that they'll bring in bigger names for Aniversario and the finale show(s), and KOT is unquestionably their biggest weekend of the year.
