Sharp-eyed viewers will notice that the guitar in the film "Kubo and the Two Strings" actually has three strings in most scenes. This is because the number two is bad luck in China, where it is associated with death.
In China, the film was released as "The Wicked Japanese Dog-Boy" and features an alternate ending where Kubo is executed for his crimes against China.
Four is associated with death in China, ding dong. Originally Kubo was going to have a sick bass guitar, but it was changed due to having four strings.

In the movie Gladiator, the scene where Commodus, played by Joaquin Phoenix gives the thumbs down gesture to kill towards Russell Crowe's Maximus is edited out in certain countries such as Italy, Bulgaria, and Nepal because the thumbs down gesture is considered abhorrent in their cultures.
Instead of thumbs down, CGI replaces his whole hand with a fish head.
In some cultures, a fish head being part of a human body is also taboo, so their solution was to disappear Commodus and make it a floating fish head gesturing towards Russell Crowe.
