I had a friend in HS who would say 'fitting to' in lieu of 'going to' or 'I'd like to' so I don't think this is new, but more of a thing that has been held in regional dialects (where it belongs). It's "Fixing To", as in I'm fixing to ____________ go to the store make a lovely post slather myself in mayo and watch anime etc
