Starks posted:same reason that most black canadian rappers sound jamaican (not drake). most of the black residents are the result of immigration rather than mass imports of slaves, both because it was abolished earlier than in the US and because they didn't have domestic industries that required as much slave labour. Since there are a number of commonwealth countries in the carribean its a natural fit for them to emigrate to the UK and Canada. heres a documentary about it so slavery was good because it made american rap better than any other rap
