Anybody saying Madoka is "depressing," especially the original series, is talking out their rear end. The ending practically explodes with hope. Rebellion, on the other hand, explodes with crazyweird. But not necessarily in a bad way. Dead characters are back alive and living good lives, for instance, even if the universe is a little ... wobbly. Can't comment on any upcoming or unreleased media, though.
